Your Bargaining Team held its third set of talks on April 11 - 13, 2022, to negotiate a new Collective Agreement with Northwest Territories Power Corp.
The current Collective Agreement expired on December 31, 2020, but remains in effect until the parties reach a renewal agreement.
Although talks have been reasonably productive, progress has been slow, and the parties have not tabled general economic proposals yet.
We are scheduled to be back at the bargaining table in person on September 20 - 22 and again on Oct 4 - 6, 2022. We have asked the Employer to agree to one day of virtual bargaining beforehand to expedite the process.
Meanwhile, the Bargaining Team extends its appreciation and good wishes to former Local 22 President Adam Montague, who accepted a position outside of the bargaining unit. We also welcome the Local’s new President, Matthew Lakusta, to the team.
