Earlier this year, delegates from across the territory met in Yellowknife to prepare for the upcoming round of bargaining with GNWT.
Over one hundred bargaining proposals were reviewed, debated, and prioritized by delegates attending the bargaining conference from August 25-27. Topic areas included a wide selection of themes addressing articles throughout the collective agreement.
Topic areas ranged from wage and premium increases to leave improvements, and collective agreement language proposals designed to enhance existing collective agreement clauses.
Delegates also elected a bargaining team. One member had to drop off unexpectedly and the first alternate has taken their place. Your Bargaining Team members’ names are listed at the bottom of this communiqué.
What’s Next?
The team will be meeting for the first time from December 1-3 in Yellowknife. The team will build on the bargaining conference work of earlier this year will be preparing for bargaining which we anticipate will happen in the new year.
Once we have established bargaining dates and when we have more to report we will let you know.
In the meantime, if you have any bargaining questions you can reach out to one of the bargaining team members. We have also set up a dedicated email for your questions: GNWT@psac-afpc.com
Thank you for your patience and continuing support.
In solidarity,
YOUR BARGAINING TEAM
