Your bargaining team for the Main Local 345 unit met with the City March 26 - 28for our second round of bargaining. Both sides are listening to each other’s concerns and have found some common ground on a few more non-monetary issues important to our members.
This week we discussed improvements to casual leave, remote and flexible work arrangements, mandatory rest periods, severance pay, and doctors note requirements.
Proposals related to leave, wages, lieu time banks and allowances are considered monetary and have not been discussed this round. We are waiting for the City’s job classification review to be done as this will impact monetary discussions.
The City expects this to be completed by our next bargaining dates May 22- 24. We also confirmed with the City that our members will be able to give input on their updated job description in the next couple of weeks.
The next dates for our MED unit are June 3 - 6.
Have questions about bargaining? Keep an eye out for our upcoming general meeting of Local 345 in late April where we will hold a bargaining Q&A (and elect a new treasurer!). Reach out to Local 345 if you are interested in this position or joining the mobilization committee.
