On April 22nd the union held a strike vote for members who work at Avens, a Centre for Seniors. The ballots were counted on Monday and the members have provided a strong strike mandate.
We are not in a legal strike position yet as the 21-day cooling-off period has not elapsed and Essential Services have not been reached.
Your bargaining team remains committed to negotiating an agreement that is suitable for the members. We are still waiting on mediation dates and remain available to meet with the employer.
