2025 - UNW 2nd Vice President Election

This is the official nomination call for members interested in running for the position of the Second Vice President (2nd VP) of the Union of Northern Workers. A paper copy of the call and nomination package was sent to all 19th Triennial Convention Delegates who are still members in good standing, with a current mailing address on file. Duties of Officers, including the Second Vice President, are listed in the Union of Northern Workers’ By-Laws. By-Law 12 – Section 3 is on the reverse side of this letter for ease of reference. You will find attached the nomination form for this position. 

Eligibility to run for the position of 2nd VP:

  • you must have been an accredited delegate to the UNW 19th Triennial Convention held in Yellowknife on November 28-30, 2023;
  • you must show that you have been active within the union for at least one full (continuous) year as a UNW Local Officer as defined by the UNW By-laws and Regulations or the Local By-laws. (Required details are on the nomination form)

Your nominator and seconder must have also been accredited delegates to the UNW 19th Triennial Convention held in Yellowknife on November 28-30, 2023 and must still be an active member in good standing. The list of accredited delegates was uploaded to the tablet provided to all Convention delegates.

DEADLINE: All nominations must be received no later than June 10, 2025 – 3:00 pm.

Electronic approvals will be accepted in lieu of physical signatures. Supporting emails, (if used for electronic approvals) must be included in the package with the Nomination Form.
