All members of the Union of Northern Workers pay union dues.  Only those who apply for Union membership are full members. 

Those who only pay dues but are not full members are called RAND deductees and are only entitled to the benefits of the Collective Agreement between their employer and the Union.

Full members can fully participate in their union, by holding office, for example.  Other benefits and discounts are also available to full members.  Some of these additional benefits are listed here.
