Dawna O’Brien became 1^st Vice President of UNW Local 6 in 2013.  She was first elected as RVP Hay River Region in 2015, and recently re-elected at the 2017 Convention.  She was born in Yellowknife and has worked for the GNWT for more than 28 years.  Dawna has served on various Boards and Agencies at the local, Territorial and National level; she also served two terms on Council for the Town of Hay River with various portfolios.  She is on the UNW's bargaining team with the GNWT.
