Call Out- 2019 OHS Conference- Yellowknife

The UNW will be holding its annual Occupational Health & Safety Conference this coming February with a goal of preparing our Occupational Health & Safety representatives with strategies and tools to use their rights and effectively communicate with their Employer to achieve timely resolution to Health & Safety issues in the workplace.
The Conference will explore the current state of workplace Health & Safety Committees with a view to building on best practices and to brainstorm on ways to improve the functioning of all work place Health & Safety Committees. The Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission will be presenting on a number of hot topics including:
 
- Occupational Health & Safety Programs for worksites
- Impairment in the Workplace
- Return to Work
 
Being a workplace Health & Safety representative is a challenging and rewarding way to make a meaningful contribution to the health & safety of your workplace and the lives of your co-workers. It is a critical aspect of the strength of the union in the workplace and we want to provide you with the training you need to feel confident and to be able to network with a fellow members to advance Health & Safety matters in the workplace.
